Berry van PeerZWA represented youngster Berry van Peer is set to follow in the footsteps of Michael van Gerwen and Rowby-John Rodriguez and compete in the final of the World Youth Championship after reaching the decider with a brilliant run in Wigan last weekend.

The Dutch prospect came through a 64-player field to reach the final, where he will face Corey Cadby in Minehead next month.

20-year-old van Peer saw off Austria’s Nico Mandl 6-3 and Thomas Sykes 6-0 before edging out fellow ZWA talent Kurt Parry to reach the quarter-finals.

There, he defeated Steve Lennon 6-5, before a brilliant whitewash win over Kenny Neyens to secure his place in the final.

Victory would see van Peer become the first Dutch World Youth Champion as van Gerwen was twice a runner-up in the tournament.

Former finalist Rodriguez reached the quarter-finals after flying in from the European Tour event in Hildesheim to compete .

The PDC Unicorn World Youth Championship final will be broadcast live on ITV4 on Sunday November 27 and played between the semi-finals and final of the Cash Converters Players Championship Finals at the Butlins Minehead Resort.
