PAUL NICHOLSON produced some fantastic performances last weekend as he secured a double European Tour qualification and enjoyed some good results at the following Players Championships.

The Australian ace kick-started his weekend by qualifying for both the Gibraltar Darts Trophy and Danish Darts Open, which take place next month.

Nicholson defeated experienced pair Jamie Caven and Ronnie Baxter to book his place in Gibraltar, before wins over Luke Woodhouse and Dave Prins saw him seal a spot in Copenhagen.

The former Players Championship finals winner then went on to reach the last 16 at Players Championship 11, where he was edged out by eventual runner-up Gabriel Clemens 6-5.

He was also beaten by a finalist at Players Championship 12, when he lost out to world number two Peter Wright in the last 32.

The weekend saw Nicholson claim particularly impressive wins over Mensur Suljovic and Cristo Reyes.
