Clayton claimed some terrific victories on a pivotal weekend in his career, as he saw off the likes of Gerwyn Price and Rob Cross en route to his first major final.

The run catapulted the 43-year-old into the world’s top 32 for the first time, making him a seeded player at the upcoming World Championship and puts him in line for a place at next year’s Grand Slam of Darts.
