ZWA talents Cristo Reyes, Rowby-John Rodriguez, Vincent van Voort and Yordi Meeuwisse are all targeting a final surge into the European Championship when qualifying concludes with the last European Tour event of the year taking place this weekend.
Spanish star Reyes currently holds one of the provisional qualifying spots by being ranked inside the top 32 on the European Tour Order of Merit, which, for the first time, is being used as the only method of qualification for the European Championship Finals later this month.
Austria’s Rodriguez and Dutch ace van der Voort both sit outside the provisional qualifying places and will need good runs in Hildesheim to book their places in Belgium.
Rodriguez’s first hurdle is to defeat Australia’s Kyle Anderson on Friday, while van der Voort begins his bid for a late surge against Peter Hudson.
Reyes looks to tighten his grip on his spot with a win against Mark Walsh, while Meeuwisse would keep his outside hopes alive with a first round victory against Kevin Painter.
Fellow ZWA ace Michael van Gerwen is looking to win his seventh European Tour title of the year. The world number one faces either Robbie Green or Christian Kist in the second round.
